AS the Eastern Shore continues to grow and expand, so too does its thirst.
Enter Homebrew HQ, a brand new store that is set on providing a thirst-quenching experience for local beer enthusiasts.
The brainchild of father and son team Geoff and Matt Williams, Homebrew HQ is a lolly shop for home-brewers, stocking all the equipment and supplies needed to make beer, wine, cider and spirits.
This includes all the brands brewers swear by, including Coopers, Mangrove Jacks, Still Spirits, Essencia and Black Rock.
Homebrew HQ is also the only homebrew outlet to stock the Tasmanian floor-malted barley, “Not for Horses”.
“From chatting with customers, we realised that the Eastern Shore was crying out for its own homebrew shop. So now, here we are,” Matt said.
Both Geoff and Matt have a very successful track record in the homebrew business, with Geoff boasting nine-years’ experience at another homebrew store and Matt with six-years.
Geoff said Homebrew HQ’s prices were “very competitive” and that excellent customer service was its point of difference.
“The brilliant thing about homebrew is that you can really create the brew that’s right for you,” he said.
“So, whether it’s a traditional draught or larger, or the newer, ‘hoppier’ craft beers, we’re happy to work with you to create a recipe that really pleases your palate.”
The customer service doesn’t stop when you walk out the door either, with Geoff and Matt only too pleased to pass on their finely honed skills.
“We can offer tips and advice for all levels of brewers, from beginners to master brewers,” Matt said.
“From the right gear and procedures to maintenance and upkeep, there is no question you can’t ask and no problem we won’t help you with.
“In the end, what we want is satisfied customers – people who, like us, enjoy a really good brew, enjoy brewing their brew and are happy to save a bit while they’re making something really special.”
Homebrew HQ is located at Shop 2, 44 Binalong Road, Mornington and is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
