THIS year marks a special milestone for the Clarence City Band as it takes to the stage next month to celebrate 30 years of performing.
The event will feature both development and performance ensembles of members aged between eight and 80 years old.
Band member Robyn Kramer said the evening would be suitable for all ages to enjoy.
“We will have a delightful selection of music, from classical to marches to jazz that represents the past 30 years,” she said.
“It’s a celebration of Clarence’s only performing band and it will be a wonderful opportunity to see us if you haven’t already around the municipality.”
Ms Kramer said it was the only performance of the year where all eight ensembles shared the stage at a single concert.
“We’ve got musicians who have only been playing a few months, to some who have been playing for a few decades,” she said.
“It’s very exciting for the beginners to have this experience and rub shoulders with the veterans.”
The Clarence City Band Gala Concert will be held at 7pm on 11 August at Learning Services South, located at 30 Raminea Road, Lindisfarne.
Tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for concession and $20 for a family.
They will be available for purchase at the door and include refreshments.
