Jumping into outdoor learning

SPACIOUS grounds, natural bushlands and newly constructed play spaces make outdoor learning a joy at John Paul II Catholic School.

Children are engaged and active learners, creating their own imaginary play using the loose parts play items from the big play box.

This includes tyres, wooden reels, fabric and pieces of wood.

Children use the outdoor kitchen to cook up a storm – collecting, measuring and pouring water from the water pump and sand from the sand pit.

At break times, the 400-metre mountain bike track is a popular place to ride one of the school bikes.

In the kinder playground, a newly built shade area protects the children as they explore the pirate ship, complete with “walk the plank.”

But be careful of the hand carved shark and crocodile in the water, they may bite.

On Wednesday mornings, children from birth to four-years-of-age can come along to the Gumnuts playgroup from 9am to 11am.

Designed for children and their carers, Gumnuts provides an opportunity to explore, create and play together in the kinder classroom.

John Paul II Catholic School encourages everyone to come along.

Applications are now open for kinder 2019.

Please contact the school to arrange a tour.
