PILATESJ is your fully equipped Pilates studio in Cambridge on Hobart’s Eastern Shore.
Follow the stone path through our peaceful garden to a bright, spacious, modern and fully equipped Pilates studio.
Beyond the studio is our recently built movement room that looks out onto another tranquil garden area.
The movement room is available for group floor pilates classes, private somatic sessions, sensory movement workshops and Tahitian dance days.
All instructors at PilatesJ are fully qualified and members of nationally recognised training organisations.
Owner and director Julie Hills – J for Julie – invites you to join her friendly team for group floor sessions, studio equipment sessions or a profoundly relaxing conscious touch therapy session.
In the group floor sessions, qualified instructors lead up to 10 beginners or Pilates enthusiasts for an hour in the movement room, with mats and apparatus already waiting for you.
Our studio equipment sessions are designed for a maximum of three clients or private one-on-one appointments are available.
You will be assisted with your individualised moves on a full range of traditional equipment, working on your own body challenges, at your own pace while fully supervised for gentle rehabilitation or strength training.
Studio session times are by appointment, at a time that suits you.
Conscious touch therapy offers a silent hour of deep relaxation through hands on touch.
This deep state of relaxation is what your body needs for the recovery of breath and promotes the release of tensions throughout your organs, tissues and muscle systems.
With this release, your body experiences a more fluid nature as it prepares for easier movement.
It is a unique opportunity to encourage the intelligence of your body’s own natural healing.
There are many and varied benefits to people of all ages who attend regular Pilates sessions.
This includes flexibility and fluidity, alignment, balance and coordination, body awareness, postural stability, stamina and joint mobility, as well as preparation for pregnancy or surgery, plus rehabilitation and recovery.
