Twilight fair and expo first of many

EMMANUEL Christian School in Rokeby recently held a combined twilight fair and school expo.

As part of Emmanuel’s 30-year celebration, the twilight fair provided a wonderful opportunity for past and present members of the school community and the local community to come together for an evening of fun.

During the evening the crowds enjoyed a range of stalls, selling items from plants to cakes; with lamb cooked on a spit and other culinary delights. The Oliebollen stall was a very popular attraction with people coming from all over Hobart to get their fill of the Dutch treat.

The Emmanuel Christian School fire engine, a product of their year 9 and 10 automotive options class, provided exciting rides around the property, while others tried their hand on the dunking machine.

Classroom displays, exhibitions of primary and secondary art, a science show, music, choir and dance entertained and delighted everyone throughout the afternoon.

Emmanuel Christian School is committed to building a strong sense of community in their students.  Events such as the School Fair contribute so much to the culture of the school.

“The evening was a wonderful success,” said Emmanuel principal, Geoff Hewitt.

“It’s great to see the community interest and support of the school. We plan to make our twilight fair an annual event.”
