DURING August, Eastlands is encouraging the community to get healthy by inviting local schools to participate in a new ‘Reward My School’ program.
Reward My School offers schools the opportunity to secure up to $5000 in cash and prizes, while learning about the benefits of healthy living and active lifestyles, as well as forging a healthy relationship with communities, charities and those in need.
“Eastlands is launching this program to create an opportunity for local schools to make a real difference, with up to $3000 in cash prizes up for grabs, as well as educational prizes valuing at $2000,” Eastlands centre manager Craig Connell said.
Being involved in Reward My School is simple – every dollar spent by friends and family at Eastlands will see the registered school receive a point.
As an extra bonus, purchases made at selected health and wellbeing retailers will receive double points.
To get involved, families, friends or supporters of the registered school simply need to present their receipts at the Customer Service Desk or drop their receipts in the school’s quick drop box located at the “My School Rules” display.
“Not only is Reward My School about cash and prizes for schools, but it is also about educating and growing healthier communities and supporting one another,” Mr Connell said.
“Healthier communities is really what our program is all about and we are looking forward to working with Foodbank Tasmania to help us achieve this goal.”
As part of the Reward My School program, Eastlands will be running a food drive in partnership with Foodbank Tasmania to collect non-perishable food items to help local Tasmanian families.
Every donated item will attract points, assisting schools to reach their fundraising goals.
To aid in the purchase of fresh fruit and vegetables for those in need, parents and friends can also purchase a gift card from Woolworths Eastlands to donate.
