Help sought for Mornington’s brave little battler

LINDA Marino is appealing for Eastern Shore residents to get behind  the efforts to help her  10-month-old god son Andreas Sheppard of Mornington who has a terminal heart condition.

Linda contacted Eastern Shore Sun to raise awareness of Andreas’ plight.  It also follows a decision Hobart’s civic leaders who are cooking  seven-course degustration dinner party for 12 people.  The idea came from Hobart City councilor and restaurateur Marti Zucco who has enlisted some of his council colleagues to cook the meal at his North Hobart eatery Segreto.

The dinner will be auctioned at a gala dinner at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on June 2 that is helping to raise funds for Andreas Sheppard.

The toddler, who lives with his mum and dad, brother and two sisters at Mornington, has a rare heart condition.

“His prognosis is not good and while we’re praying for a miracle for his heart, the truth is he is already a miracle,” Linda Marino, convenor of the Andreas Needs a Miracle gala dinner.

The black-tie event, $150 a seat, is hosted by 7HO FM’s Breakfast with the Stars and WIN’s Anna McMahon, with entertainment by hypnotist Zeiken Black. Another auction item will be a seafood dinner for six cooked by My Kitchen Rules’ Megan and Andy.
